The European market for bathroom furniture, furnishings and wellness is worth approximately EUR 12 billion. This figure includes bathroom furniture and accessories, WC seats, bathtubs and whirlpools, sanitary, faucets, shower screens, shower trays, and multifunctional shower booths. During 2018, the market registered an increase of 2.1% (year-on-year). The best performances were reported in Central East Europe, as well as in Spain.

According to CSIL Market Research Report Africa Furniture Outlook (March 2019), almost 70% of the total furniture market in Africa is satisfied by local manufacturers.
Total Africa furniture production amounts to US$ 7.5 billion and only 10% of furniture manufactured in Africa is exported (main exporting countries are Egypt, South Africa, Morocco and Tunisia). Several African countries have good potential for developing their furniture industry, both for internal consumption and for exports.
For Africa as a whole, a 2.4% growth of furniture consumption in real terms is expected for the year 2020.

Romania plays a key role in the European upholstered furniture sector, ranking fourth in export and fifth in production of this segment. In 2017 Romanian companies manufactured upholstered furniture for a value of about EUR 670 million, increasing by nearly 50% in the time frame 2012 - 2017.

According to CSIL, 2017 was a positive year for the office furniture sector in Europe. Despite persistent uncertainties, the European production reached EUR 8,780 million in 2017 posting a 2% growth and reinforcing the performance of the previous year.
Office furniture consumption in Europe increased by 2.2% in 2017 reaching a total value of EUR 8,459 million. Among the largest Western European markets Austria, France, Italy and Spain outperformed the European average (+2.2%)

The Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) hosted its first timber conference on 18 October 2018, at the Meridien Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, along with other sector experts from Finland, Switzerland and Malaysia.

According to CSIL, world consumption and production of mattresses have grown over the last decade, with different performances among different regions.
Globally, mattress production confirmed to grow in 2017. The value of mattresses produced worldwide increased by 40% since 2008 and it is forecasted to further increase in the time frame 2019- 2022.
